How
“His Cold Feet” came to be: I was getting drilled
with questions, “When are you two getting married?”
“When’s the big day?” “Should I be
shopping for a dress?” All of which lead me to corner
my beau (now hubby) with questions like, “What are you
waiting for?”
It wasn’t too long before I found
out that I wasn’t the only one dropping some not so
subtle hints. Not to mention all the obsessing wondering
if there’s a ring in the picture and all the minutes
used on the cell phone venting to the committee of girlfriends.
Whether from a friend, a colleague, or a person sitting
next to me in a restaurant, I kept hearing about what I
call 'pre-engagement limbo.’ No matter how common,
those going through it feel like they’re the only
ones. How could they not when save-the-date cards are filling
up the mailbox. There is a
common story of a woman who feels ready to get married before
her long-term boyfriend feels ready to pop the question.
